Our Story

In 2024, Heather Perillo EDO/CDO joined with a talented Veterinarian, Dr. Kayla, and wonderfully knowledgeable Herbalist/Nutritionist, Kayla Miles, forming the "Comprehensive Equine Wellness Workshop Team", first United States based Osteopathic team, was born. Over the following months, we were joined by the outstanding farrier, Trista Lutz, and incredible dentist, Ashley Greenhill. In early 2025, the CEWW Team gained another talented dentist, Sam Simpson, along with a human chiropractor, Amy Harris, DC. This was Heather's dream when this journey started; to create a Team of talented and like-minded people who put the horse first in all ways. Heathers hope for the future is that the team continues to grow and we see new teams develop nation wide with the same goals.

Heather Perillo  EDO/CDO

Born and raised in Upstate New York, Heather has been an animal nut since birth. Childhood dreams included becoming a veterinarian and raising horses. While she didn't end up going to vet school, she did pursue horses. She started working with them and taking lessons at 12 years old and purchased her first horse at 15. Later she ended up purchasing a 6 year old OTTB mare a couple years later who Heather jokingly says "put her through vet school but I never got a degree for it". In 2005, Heather moved to East Texas and pursued her dream of breeding friesians and friesian crosses. New Horizons Ranch came to life and she had her friesian stallion, Darktanion. In 2014, Heather chose to retire from breeding and start trying to help the ones that were already here. She began her bodywork career with PEMF Therapy, establishing her business NHR PEMF Services. However, after a short amount of time, she started discovering patterns that she couldn't explain. Always looking for answers, Heather was introduced to the field of Equine Osteopathy. After 4 incredibly wild years of study, Heather graduated the from the Vluggen Institute as an EDO in 2021 and later a CDO in 2023.

I got my first horse for Christmas at 13. I have never felt overly pressured to conform to standards if it didn’t seem to work but we all end up caught in the fads somehow. Riding, showing, training, trimming, breeding. If you’re not careful the industry keeps us from asking WHY we do that & is there a better way. When you start looking for real answers you start a process that doesn’t stop. I had many quality people in my early horse life but my eyes were not open till after college. Then I got a glimpse of finding what’s best for the horses regardless of what anyone else says. If it’s not working look for other options no matter how many places you have to look. When you know better do better & forgive yourself for not knowing. The horse is always right!
